Process

Step 1: Prescreen

Call our office at (678) 408-6304 for a quick 10-15 minute prescreen consultation over the phone. We will gather your basic information, an overview of medical history, current treatment plan, and other information to determine eligibility.

Step 2: Medical Records

Once we determine that you would be a qualified candidate to be enrolled in the Georgia THC Oil Registry, we will request medical records from your current primary care physician, pain management clinic, and all other medical professionals who are currently treating you as a patient.

To ensure an efficient doctor visit, we recommend that you call our office at least 3 business days before your appointment to confirm that our office has received medical records from all current doctors. You can also bring medical records to our office beforehand or bring them to your appointment. If we do not have all medical records by the day of your appointment, you will not be able to apply for a THC card.

Step 3: Your Visit

A complete medical evaluation will be performed by a licensed medical doctor who is registered with the State of Georgia to apply on your behalf for a medical low THC card. Our doctors have been professionally educated specifically in the field of CBD/THC use as an alternative medical treatment.

The cost for the visit is $250, which includes a follow up with a doctor if you do not qualify on the first visit.

Once the exam is complete, your doctor will complete all documentation required by the State of Georgia, notarize documents on-site, and submit them to the State for approval. We do not guarantee approval, as it is the State's ultimate decision to approve or deny the request. If approved, your card will be ready for pickup in approximately 15 business days.

We encourage you to read the official FAQ issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health regarding the Low THC Oil program.

Step 4: After Your Visit

You will receive calls from (1) the Department of Public Health (DPH) notifying you that your low THC oil card has been printed and (2) the DPH's Office of Vital Records to verify which Public Health Office location is the most convenient for you to pick up your card. Your card will be ready to pick up in approximately 15 business days after documents are submitted by your doctor.

Once you have received your low THC oil card, you are legally allowed to possess up to 20 fluid ounces of low THC oil. This does not make the sale or possession of all types of marijuana legal for the patient in Georgia. Possession of any form of marijuana by an unauthorized person is and remains a violation of state and federal law.

The low THC oil card is required by law to be renewed every two years.
